Softub Suggestions for Using Spa Marvel All Natural Hot Tub Treatment
Using Spa Marvel Water Treatment in a Softub or other low circulation hot tub.
Below is a short video presented by Tim Rodger, one of the owners of Spa Marvel Company. He owned a Softub dealership in Ontario many years ago, back when he and his partner brought Spa Marvel to the market. Tim owns a Softub himself and uses Spa Marvel (of course).
Help your Softub to circulate more often by opening the cover for a few hours or more whenever possible. This will cool the water and force the pump to come on. Perhaps leave the lid partially open when you are through using the hot tub in the evening, then close it in the morning. This is particularly important in the summer time. When the weather is warmer the pump will run even less often. Having the pump run for 8 or so hours at least every couple days will allow Spa Marvel to do its' job and dramatically increase your overall enjoyment of your Softub.
Properly cleaned filters are pivotal to the success of Spa Marvel. Clean your filter weekly using Spa Marvel Filter Cleaner. We suggest having two filters so you can swap out your filter with the clean one from the week before. Follow the simple directions on the Filter Cleaner bottle. After soaking the filter it is critical that the debris is thoroughly removed from the pleats of the filters.The water pressure from showers and kitchen sinks is often not strong enough to remove the debris. If after rinsing your filters there is still discolouration in the pleats of the filters, they are not clean.Many people use a pressure washer to quickly and effectively remove the debris after soaking them. If you do not have access to a pressure washer, the sprayer at the coin-operated car wash works well and it won't tear the filters.
Add up to 4 table spoons of sanitizer weekly. In general, the more the hot tub circulates the water, the less sanitizer you will need to keep your hot tub water sparking clean. The amount of sanitizer is also dependent on the frequency and number of users. If there are only two of you using the hot tub a couple times a week then I would start off using 1 or 2 table spoons of sanitizer. On the other hand, if you have 5 kids and their friends using it five times a week then you might start with 4 table spoons of sanitizer weekly.
Use a sanitizer dispenser. Only put one or two tablets in the dispenser and close it down to the very minimum. Any more than the minimum setting and you will overwhelm the hot tub with sanitizer. Check the chemical levels regularly at first until you know you have the right setting.
